More About the Journal

The University Forum Journal for Humanities and Applied Studies (UFJHAS) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Faculty of Arts at Bani Waleed University, Libya. The journal is dedicated to publishing original scholarly research and studies in the humanities and social sciences, as well as relevant interdisciplinary and applied studies.

The journal was established in 2012 and was published in print until 2025. It is registered with the National Book House in Benghazi under registration number (2012-446). Beginning in 2026, the journal adopted electronic publishing through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform.

The journal is assigned the International Standard Serial Number (ISSN Print): 3006-0885 and (ISSN Online): 3006-0893. It is an open-access journal and publishes research in Arabic, English, and French.

The journal publishes two issues per year following a continuous publishing model. Each article is published individually as soon as the peer-review process, final approval, and publication preparation have been completed, and is then assigned to the appropriate issue of the year.

In the journal’s title, the term “Applied” refers to studies and applications that have a clear scholarly connection to the humanities and social sciences or to the fields of knowledge within the journal’s scope. It does not mean that the journal publishes independent applied sciences as standalone disciplines unless they have a substantive connection to the journal’s scope.

The journal seeks to contribute to the advancement of scholarly knowledge, encourage interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research, and promote the use of modern methods and techniques in the study of human, social, cultural, historical, educational, spatial, and heritage issues. In doing so, it aims to enhance the quality of scholarly research and strengthen its presence in local, Arab, and international academic communities.

The journal is committed to scholarly publishing ethics and academic integrity through rigorous peer-review procedures and, when necessary, text-similarity screening to identify potential cases of plagiarism. The results of such screening, together with the nature of the manuscript and the scholarly and editorial assessment, are considered when making decisions concerning the originality and academic integrity of submitted research. Through these practices, the journal seeks to establish itself as a distinguished academic platform for disseminating knowledge and contributing to the advancement of scholarly research.
