The Role of digital media and the Arab Spring in Reshaping the Arab media identity, 2010-2024 79 46
Abstract
Abstract: The study sought to address the role of digital media in reformulating the Arab identity, especially for the period between (2010-2024), which is a period rich in events and facts that took place in Arab countries through what was called the Arab Spring. The descriptive analytical critical approach was followed that suits the nature of the study and its subject, and many research objectives were identified from which many research questions emerged that address the dilemma of Arab identity in light of digitization and new media. The study came out with many research results, including: failure to achieve any goals of the Arab Spring, the absence of a unified Arab media identity, the dominance of political systems over the media reality, and at the end of the study, many recommendations were made, including the need to pay attention to Arab media education, provide curricula and professional media training, and provide common factors between Arab systems as a minimum for agreement on the media identity.
